How McHugh Builders keeps your home clean during your new construction

Protection On All Phases Of Construction

How We Keep Clean During Your Project

Any construction by nature tends to get a little messy. It involves heavy boots, heavy tools, and a lot of saw-dust. But just because construction is messy doesn’t mean your home has to suffer for it.

At McHugh Builders, we operate on a simple principle: Treat the client’s home with the same respect as if it were our own.

Whether we are working on a massive second-story addition or a targeted kitchen renovation, we implement a rigorous jobsite protection plan from Day One. Here is how we keep your home safe and clean while we work.

Armoring Your Floors With Ram Board

The floors are typically the most vulnerable surface during most projects. A simple drop cloth isn’t enough if someone dropped hammer or a heavy work boot scuffs the floor.

That is why we use Ram Board. This is a heavy-duty, temporary floor protection system that rolls out to cover wood, tile, and concrete. It is impact-resistant, breathable, and tough.

By covering your finished floors immediately, we prevent scratches, dents, and spills. This allows our crew to move efficiently without worrying about damaging the finishes underneath, resulting in a smoother, safer and faster timeline!

Keeping The Dust Out Using ZipWall Systems

One of the most common issues homeowners have during renovations isn’t the noise, it’s the dust that migrates into the bedrooms or living areas while work is being done.

To counter this, we use ZipWall systems to create sealed barriers between the construction zone and the rest of your living space. These spring-loaded poles and plastic sheeting create a tight seal that isolates the entire work area.

This keeps the mess where it belongs and means you don’t come home to a layer of drywall dust on your kitchen table while your trying to cook even if we are working in the next room.

Protecting Your HVAC System

Additionally when it comes to dust, it doesn’t just travel through the air, it travels through your vents. If construction debris gets sucked into your return vents, it can clog your furnace filter and circulate throughout the entire house long after we leave.

We take the extra step of installing temporary filter media over the HVAC returns in the work zone. This acts as a mask for your home’s mechanical system, catching dust before it enters the ductwork.

Get The McHugh Standard

We believe that a clean jobsite is a safe jobsite. When the workspace is organized and protected, the quality of the work improves 10 fold!

This attention to detail is part of the same philosophy that drives our structural decisions, like using hold-downs for wind protection. Whether it is the structural integrity of the frame or the condition of your hardwood floors, we believe in doing things right—not just getting them done.
